Camps and Clinics

Equestrian Arts Institute runs camps throughout the year that are geared to specific age groups and skill levels.  We run a traditional summer day camp, Christmas Camps, and specialized Training Camps.  We also run occasional clinics with your Head Instructor, Toney Massionple, as well as outside guest instructors.  Keep an eye on our event calendar for future dates for both camps and clinics.

 Children's Riding Camps
(ages 6-15)

These camps are geared for children ages 6-15 and are separated into specific skill levels.  Offered throughout the summer and at major holiday breaks (see event calendar for dates)

Pre-K-1st Grade
Kids that have never ridden before to kids that have experience at the walk with a basic intro to the trot.

2nd Grade-4th Grade
Kids that have experience at walk/trot to kids that have been started over groundpoles.

5th-Grade - 6th grade

     Competitors Training Camp
    (Maiden through Novice)

Our Training Camps have been designed specifically for riders that are interested in pursuing eventing and/or are already competing in the sport of eventing.  For riders that have not competed in eventing, they must be competent at walk/trot/canter and jumping 2' course.  Our training camps are very intense, but incorporate a lot of fun as well.  We usually try to have our training camps scheduled where there is a competition at the end of the week that campers may choose to compete (therefore showing off their skills).

    Levels

    Maiden - BN
    (2'-2'7")
Riders will no eventing experience (must be competent w/t/c, jumping 2' courses) or students that are competing Maiden and ready to move up to Beginner Novice.  This is also good for riders that have just started competing BN.

    BN-Novice
    (2'7"-2'11")
Riders that have been competing BN and are ready to move up to Novice.  As well as riders that have just moved up to Novice.

    Novice-Training
    (2'11"-3'3")
Riders that have been competing Novice and are ready to move up to Training.  As well as riders that have just moved up to Training.

    Equine Training Camp
    (Horses - Pre K thru 2nd Grade)

This camp has been specifically designed for riders and/or owners that would like the experience of working with a young and/or green horse.

This is a great opportunity for riders to bring their own young/green horse and help in the process of training him/her.  If you don't have your own horse, but are interested in learning how to work with young or green horses, we can provide a horse for you (your assigned horse will pend on your skill level).

This camp includes lessons in groundwork (in-hand, longeing, and long-reining), as well as basic under saddle work for the green/uneducated horse.
